Next iPad mini to use bigger battery

by on15 October 2013

Bigger battery needed to power retina display

Sources are suggesting that the next iPad mini will use a bigger or larger battery this time around. The larger battery is apparently necessary to power the retina display. This larger battery has apparently led to the new iPad mini being a fraction thicker this time around. That fraction thicker equates to about 7.5 millimeters thick.

Still rumors persist that Apple may not be able to get enough retina displays for the new iPad mini 2 and that could lead to constrained availability this holiday season if announced at the Apple even on October 22nd. While some sources suggest that Apple has solved the problem, others say that solving the availability of more retina panels in that size for Apple is still a work in progress.

The larger battery rumored to give the iPad mini 2 with the retina display the same kind of or a little bit better battery life that the original iPad mini had.
