Nokia looking to make unique tablet

by on29 April 2011

Unique as in they’ll sell only one?
After recently likening the company to a burning oil platform, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop now hinted at the company jumping aboard the tablet train.

Speaking to YLE TV, Elop said that the company is currently assessing the right strategy for Nokia. He said that the company has plenty of options, be they Windows oriented tablets or other “software assets”.

Nokia is obviously keen to deliver a product that’s recognizable and unique. Elop said:”There are now over 200 different tablets on the marketplace, only one of them is doing really well. My challenge to the team is I don't want to be the 201st tablet on the market that you cannot tell from all of the others.”

Since we can still recall the golden times of the Finnish giant, we really wish them luck with this, because they’re right on one point – only one of them is doing really well. Perhaps Nokia should make theirs fire proof or inflatable, what with all the burning platform and the freezing sea metaphors?

More here.
