Sharp is sending 10G LCD panel's out from its plants and it is expected that they will end up in new TVs soon.

The 10G technology is being made in Sakai City in Japan, according to the Japanese-language magazine Nikkan. Demand for LCD TVs has been strong despite the recession and it meant that Sharp had no problem getting  second phase investment for the 10G plant.

More equipment for the second phase of  installation will be installed in the in the first half of 2010, and the plant will reach its designed monthly capacity of 72,000 substrates in mid-2010. Initial production at the plant is 36,000 substrates per month.

10G is 70 per cent more efficient than 8G and enable the construction of much bigger televisions at an affordable price.
