More than 65 per cent offloaded

Ebay has
dumped more than 65 per cent of its Skype shares to private investor. The investor is backed by Silver Lake which apparently has plans to expand the business.  Ebay has kept Skype in a holding pattern, not really knowing what to do with it.

The deal which netted Ebay $2 billion is coming as the outfit is sued by its former owners for using technology which was not included when the online auctioneer bought the company.

Ebay still holds 35 percent of the remaining Skype's shares.
