Microsoft installs PC Health Check on Windows 10 devices

by on27 October 2021

Now you will know you can't install Windows 11

In one of its more daft PR moves, Software King of the World Microsoft has force installed PC Health Check onto Windows 10 machines.

While such an installation is annoying, it also has the added bonus that it will show millions of Windows 10 users that their computers are totally unable to download Windows 11.

Many users would not care that much, given that Windows 11 lacks much in the way of any compelling applications. But it requires a hardware upgrade which is so narrow that most users looking at their PC heath check will assume that Windows 11 is out of their league for ever.

Force installing the PC Health Check application on Windows 10 devices happened in the  KB5005463 update.  It can be uninstalled of users want, using the Settings app. However, readers have told BleepingComputer that they have had to uninstall the application numerous times as the applications keep being reinstalled on the next check for updates.
