Wozniak looks to deep web

Dancing Queen
and super geek Steve Wozniak is getting involved in an outfit which which explores the deep web.

The deep web is basically that huge chunk of unsearchable data which is on the web and many think it could be a gold mine if someone could work out a way of plumbing its depths.

Woz will be joining the advisory board of DeepDyve which is a startup which hopes to work out a way to turn Woz into the Jacques Cousteau of the deep web. Woz said in a press release that the deep Web holds an almost limitless wealth of data, yet most of that information is collecting dust because nobody’s come up with a way to mine the data in a way that’s useful to researchers and consumers.

He thinks that DeepDyve’s search technology is a breakthrough compared to the traditional keyword search that we know today and the outfit has the potential to transform deep Web search.
