Fast with the facts

Microsoft's recently
acquired Fast Search & Transfer has been charged with accounting fraud by Norwegian officials.

Police raided Fast's offices in Oslo in order to prevent Microsoft officials from putting evidence in the shredder – not that they would ever do that, of course. Microsoft has not said anything about the raid, but does admit that it might have let one or two Norwegian coppers into the building yesterday.

The fact that these coppers were from the Norwegian Police for Economic Crime was a detail and Microsoft and its subsidiary Fast Search & Transfer are cooperating fully with the police inquiries.

Fast, which specializes in enterprise search, was acquired by Microsoft earlier this year for $1.2 billion.
