27-inch Dell UltraSharp U2717D (2560x1440p, IPS panel with WLED backlight)
The monitor is called the Dell UltraSharp U2717D (or U2717DA with monitor arm) and features a 27-inch IPS WLED-backlit display with 2560x1440p resolution at 60Hz. This panel features a matte, anti-glare screen surface and offers a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 178-degree viewing angles, and 350 cd/m2 maximum brightness. It also supports true 8-bit colour (16.7 million colour) without any dithering and has a response time of 8ms from grey-to-grey, or 6ms in "Fast" mode. The 27-inch Dell UltraSharp UD2717D includes two HDMI 1.4 ports (with MHL 2.0), one MiniDP 1.2 port, one DisplayPort 1.2 input and one DisplayPort 1.2 output (for MST daisy-chaining), four USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm audio output. With the included stand, the panel measures 410.2mm tall (16.15 inches) by 611.3mm (24.07 inches) wide by 200.3mm deep (7.89 inches) at a weight of 4.5kg (9.9 pounds).
Like its other InfinityEdge designs with ultra-slim bezels, the UltraSharp U2717D features a dual-stage design with a total bezel thickness of 7.3mm (0.28 inches) at the top and 8.4mm (0.33 inches) at the bottom. The stand is also fully adjustable for height, swivel, tilt and pivot into portrait mode.
The model is currently showing up on Dell's Chinese website, where it is listed for ¥5,999 Chinese yuan ($912 USD). We have reached out to Dell for further comment regarding its 2016 UltraSharp series lineup and look forward to having a review lined up once samples become available.
