Born to be wildish

Thousands of motorcycle fans all over the world are crying into their beer over Apple getting the trademark for one of the legendary Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The legendary logo, which has spawned many rebels without a cause, will now be in possession of rebels without a clue. The EU Patent & Trademark Office officially published two Apple trademark applications for "Lightning" under numbers 011399821/862.

According to Patently Apple, the filing illustrates that Apple had acquired the trademark from Harley-Davidson which is still protected until 2013. One of the documents indicate that the transfer may have officially occurred a few days ago, November 24, 2012, the date that it appeared in the EU's public trademark database.

It is not clear what Apple wants with the logo, aside from the obvious Ligthning connector. Perhaps it is forming chapters of Jobs' Angels and will terrorise small towns in the US by taking them over and playing Coldplay on their iPhones really loudly.
