Apple approved one million iOS apps

by on20 November 2012

But a quarter have been pulled

Research outfit Appsfire claims that Apple has already approved one million apps, including 493,298 paid app submissions.

However, about a quarter of the apps have already been removed from the App store, so the actual number of available apps is 736,247, with 336,270 paid apps.

Last month Google also reached 700,000 apps, but it doesn’t seem to have yanked nearly as many apps from its store as Apple.

The question is, who will be the first to hit the one million mark and does sheer quantity really matter at this point?
