RIAA refuses to share cash with artists
So who are they doing it for?
The hundreds of millions of dollars that it has been estimated the RIAA has raised by threatening file sharers has been going into its own coffers.
According to the /New York Post/, organizations representing artists are getting angry that the money earned by court actions, ringing up and demanding cash is going straight into the pockets of the record companies.
Lawyer John Branca, who has represented Korn, Don Henley and The Rolling Stones, said that artist managers and lawyers have been wondering for months when their artists will see money from the copyright settlements and how it will be accounted for.
He said some are considering suing the RIAA for a share of what it is earning.
