Nelson Marques has said that he's working very hard on packaging the Unity interface from Canonical/Ubuntu to the openSuse. Unity is the new user interface designed and created by Canonical for the Natty Narwhal level of Ubuntu. It is fair to say that it is not that popular because it takes away much of the users ability to tinker.
Apparently openSUSE users want it in their distribution, which is why Marques is flat out converting it. Unity 2D will be included in the openSUSE 11.4 GNOME:Ayatana software repository, and work on porting Unity 3D will continue. An 1-Click installer will also be available for those who want to test Unity under openSUSE.
Nelson Marques's Unity packages will include launcher auto-hide, workspace selector, applications menu and files, and transparency. He said that a few more additional packages need some care and once they get updated and tested they will be uploaded to GNOME:Ayatana.
OpenSUSE's GNOME:Ayatana software repository also includes popular applications like Evolution, Banshee, Empathy, Metacity, and various Ubuntu indicators.
