Euro parliament hacked again

by on31 March 2011

Might be linked to last weeks attack
The European Parliament's network has been hacked in an attack which could be linked with another against the European Commission and the External Action Service networks last week.

Parliament's spokesmen said the attack was still ongoing yesterday morning and information technology services have put in place some security measures. The Parliament and the Commission have separate networks, and so far it seems that they have been compromised in order to allow the attackers to snoop around.

It is also a similar attack to the one that was carried out on the French government computer networks in search for documents regarding to the G20 summit held in Paris in February. Some of the files taken in the hack were redirected to Chinese sites, suggesting that it might be that country which is behind the attacks.
