Mobile spam has claimed its first victim but may have saved the lived of many others.
Russian coppers have revealed how a suicide bomber was planning to blow herself up in a packed Red Square on New Years' Eve. She was apparently all wired up and ready to blow at a terrorist safe house with the bombs all wired to detonate using her mobile phone.
Unfortunately her mobile phone provider decided at that exact moment to send some annoying spam about one of its phone services which if the plan had worked she would not have needed. Apparently the message reportedly wished her a Happy New Years, which it looks like she didn't really have.
If the yarn is true then it might be the only time that a wireless carrier’s SMS message has ever been useful. The woman was part of the same Jihadist group that is suspected of hitting Moscow’s airport on Monday with a suicide bomb attack that killed 35. Sadly the mobile phone users had not decided to send him any annoying messages.
