AMD announces Ryzen 5000G APUs for desktop

Although previously available to OEMs, AMD has now announced its two Ryzen 5000G SKUs for the retail/e-tail market, the Ryzen 7 5700G and the Ryzen 5 5600G, offering impressive performance with Zen 3 CPU architecture and Vega graphics at $359 and $259.

The two new Ryzen 5000G series APUs are quite similar to their desktop counterparts, except for the amount of L3 cache and the actual TDP, since Ryzen 5000G are rated at 65W TDP and come with 16MB of L3 cache.

The Ryzen 7 5700G is an 8-core/16-thread SKU working at 3.8GHz base and 4.6GHz Turbo clock, pack 16MB of L3 cache, 8GPU CUs at 2.0GHz, and the same 65W TDP.

The Ryzen 5 5600G is a 6-core/12-thread SKU working at 3.9GHz base and 4.4GHz Turbo clocks, 16MB of L3 cache, 7 GPU CUs at 1.9GHz, have 24 PCI PCIe 3.0 lanes, and the aforementioned 65W TDP.

As announced, both new Ryzen 5000G series APUs will be available on August 5 with the price set at $359 for the Ryzen 7 5700G and $259 for the Ryzen 5 5600G.
