While it might not have anything to counter Intel's flagship 18-core Core i9-7980XE CPU, according to details coming from Tweaktown.com, AMD's flagship Threadripper 1998X should do quite well with its 16-cores and 32-threads, running at 3.5GHz base and 3.9GHz Turbo clock, have support for eXtender Frequency Range (XFR) and 155W TDP. The similar Threadripper 1998 should have lower 3.2/3.6GHz clocks, lack XFR and have the same 155W TDP. 

The 14-core/28-thread lineup also includes two models, the Threadripper 1977X, running at 3.5GHz base and 4.0GHz Turbo clocks, XFR and same 155W TDP while the Threadripper 1977 will work at 3.2/3.7GHz clocks, lack XFR and have the same 155W TDP.

AMD will have three 125W TDP 12-core/24-thread models, the Threadripper 1976X, 1956X and the 1956. The Threadripper 1976X has XFR and works at 3.6/4.0GHz clocks. The Threadripper 1956X works at lower 3.2GHz and 3.8GHz clocks and also has XFR, while the Threadripper 1956 works at 3.0GHz base and 3.7GHz Turbo clocks and lacks XFR.

The bottom lineup of 10-core/20-thread CPUs will also have the same 125W TDP and include the Threadripper 1955X, working at 3.6GHz base and 4.0GHz Turbo clocks, with XFR, while the Threadripper 1955 has a 3.1GHz base clock and 3.7GHz Turbo clock but lacks XFR.
