Taiwanese vendors expect strong year
According to Digitimes, Taiwanese motherboard and notebook makers expect to see a sizable increase in AMD's market share in 2011.

Thanks to upcoming Fusion processors, AMD is expected to boost its notebook market share from 11 percent to 15 percent in 2011. AMD will also see wins in the desktop and server market and its market share is expected to jump from 20 to 25 percent next year.

Although Intel will introduce the new Sandy Bridge CPU series in early 2011, vendors believe AMD will still have an advantage in certain market segments due to its superior cost/performance ratio. In addition, AMD's new Fusion processors stand to steal a chunk of Intel's Atom market, which was previously uncontested by AMD.
