Every couple
of months the dark satanic rumour mill spews out reports that Nvidia is working on an x86 chip, and every time Nvidia execs dismiss such claims.

In an interview with CNET, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang was asked whether the outfit was developing an x86 chip. His answer, like many times before, was simply "no". Huang is probably getting a bit tired of commenting such reports, so we're really not surprised by the elaborate response.

Huang stressed that Nvidia's strategy revolves around parallel computing, GPUs and Tegra. Huang also pointed out that Nvidia will focus on TSMC for its foundry needs. "Globalfoundries is AMD's fab. Our strategy is TSMC," said Huang.

Honestly, we really don't understand why people insist on reading chicken entrails, crystal balls and tarot cards. If Nvidia was developing an x86 product, we would have reported it by now.
