We got some details about the pricing on Atom N470, the newest 1.83GHz addition to Pine-trail M platform, and we must admit this baby won’t be cheap.

The fastest Atom to date will sell for $75 at launch. If you compare it with the current Atom N270, which sells for $44, it's about 58 percent difference, which in this market is huge.

Things won’t get much better with Atom N450, as this 1.66GHz CPU will sell for $64, indicating that Netbooks based on latest generation of Atoms will end up being more expensive and even that Atom N470 might end up too expensive and not so much popular among OEMs. This happened before with Atom 1.86 and later 2.0 that was never as popular as the 1.6GHz N270.

Atom N470 will end up more expensive that 2.2GHz Celeron 900, which is clearly faster than any Atom, but a much worse solution when it comes to battery life.
