Many gone by January

We’ve learned that many AMD employees in Europe will get axed and some separate sources implicate that by January time AMD might fire as many as a hundred people in Europe. The European office in total has around 260 employees, and as you can see this would be a serious job cut.

AMD is preparing for some bad times, as computer sales will suffer due to the economic slowdown, and it will try to seriously reduce this impact by reducing its work force. We've also learned that many jobs will be axed in Texas.

This new wave of pink slips also implies that AMD will try to centralize its European operation and Munich is going to be the second strong office; of course, second to the mighty Milan powerhouse, the home of the leaders of AMD Europe.

We are sad that some good people will be affected and, unfortunately, we don´t think this is last of it.
