Otherwise it's too hot

We asked many of AMD's senior staff about a mobile quad core CPU and every single one of them said that it will happen. Before that happens, AMD or Intel need to make a quad core CPU that will perform well and will be able to operate at 35W or less.

Currently, this is very tough, especially for AMD, and even Intel will struggle with its 45 nm quad core. Many sources believe that this won't happen in 2008 as the CPUs are still too hot, but certainly with the new shrinking marchitectures, quad core will find its place into notebooks.

Based on information that we acquired we believe that this won't happen before 2009.
