AT&T launches fake 5G network for Galaxy S8 users
Launching in over 20 metro areas in 2017
In a press release issued on Tuesday, AT&T announced that it is rolling out a faster network in select metro areas called “5G Evolution” for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users. However, closer investigation reveals a keen old marketing scheme to rebrand its existing LTE-Advanced network with higher speeds under the 5G name.

On the eve of Mobile World Congress 2016, Samsung announced a new automotive device enabling all passengers of a moving vehicle to connect to nearby available ultra-fast LTE networks. The device is aimed at providing a convenient way for owners of older cars to add LTE connectivity to their vehicles for anyone using a mobile device and not sitting behind the wheel.
