Microsoft addresses random WP8 reboots

by on28 November 2012

Problem identified, fix coming in December

Last week it emerged that some early adopters of Nokia and HTC Windows Phone 8 devices are experiencing random reboots and freezes. We wrote about it here.

Microsoft is clearly taking the issue seriously and it now believes it has identified the problem. The company said it will try to deliver an OTA fix next month.

Microsoft states that it is continuing to investigate the issue, but notes that a cause was identified with the aid of its partners. However, Redmond is still not saying what actually caused the issue, so feel free to guess.

One theory is that demonic forces are at work and that Ballmer will have to perform an exorcism in a pink tutu to get the possessed phones to run properly.
