Apple sells million iPhone 4S in a day

New record

It was not a darling of the tech press because many punters expected more, but the new phone in last year’s design also known as iPhone 4S has sold in million units in a single day.

The previous record held by iPhone 4 was 600.000 in a day, which kind of makes sense due to the incredible design and level of innovation that phone brought. Apple still underlines that despite the phone looks like the chief designer took a 16-month vacation, it has a dual-core processor, Siri personal assistant and voice recognition as well as 8MP camera with a new five-element lens. Basically this was enough to convince a million people to buy this phone.

“We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. If you read between the line, he is saying, we don’t even need to pay Apple Design Chief Jony Ive so much money and that we can sell the same design 16 months later.

Many of our friends and girlfriends have iPhone 4’s and none of them were really impressed by the iPhone 4S. Two out of five said that they will buy 4S simply as one is in love with whatever Apple do and the second one sold his iPhone 4 before 4S announcement hoping to buy an iPhone 5.

We can only say kudos Apple for pulling this one off.
