No, there will be no Clint Eastwood
The phone that’s on everyone’s lips lately, LG’s Optimus 2X, is set to launch in Europe next month preloaded with a music ringtone collection from Ennio Morricone. The collection will contain the composer’s previous works as well as “newly composed pieces”.

The dual-core Tegra 2 based phone will feature 25 ringtones and music tracks by the composer, where 15 were composed specifically for LG. The company also announced that its Application Store will make available free Morricone-related content next year, i.e. next month.

LG’s president, Dr. Jong-seok Parksaid that “Reproducing [Morricone’s] work with such amazing clarity on the Optimus 2X, gives smartphones a whole new level of respect as the primary device for on-the-go music.” While we’re not very fond of marrying words like “amazing clarity” and “phone”, we’ll let it slide because we really liked The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
