Expect announcement tomorrow
The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell on earth rumour which suggests that Intel will tie up with Micron in a deal about NAND flash.

The pair are going to hold a news conference together tomorrow, but the word on the street is that they will announce the finalization of their Singapore agreement. This will see 25-nm NAND Flash released and then 20-nm.

Intel and Micron have a NAND joint venture called IM Flash Technologies (IMFT). The venture's new fab in Singapore is ramping up. Micron has begun producing NAND wafers at its new 300-mm fab venture in Singapore.

So far Intel has not stated what it is going to do. The chip maker is not investing in the Singapore fab, as previously thought. However tomorrow we will find out what Chipzilla's involvement in the glorious alliance is.

It is definitely committed to the alliance as the pair want to retake the NAND technology lead with a 20-nm NAND part as soon as possible.
