With high double precision compute performance
AMD has updated its lineup of Radeon Pro workstation graphics cards with the Radeon Pro VII, based on 7nm Vega GPU and featuring Infinity Fabric Link for pairing two of these cards for some serious performance.
Close to half of the MSRP
The marketing guys at AMD did a nice job naming the card Radeon VII (Roman 7) as it is a 7nm, launching on February 7 and costing $699 but our investigation shows that 16GB HBM 2 comes at a hefty price.
First benchmarks appear online
With Apple adding more configuration options to its MacBook Pro 15 notebooks, including the Radeon Pro Vega 16 and Radeon Pro Vega 20 GPUs, it was just a matter of time before we see some of the first benchmarks with these new GPUs, and it appears these provide a decent performance boost in graphics.
7nm Instinct only
AMD is getting ready to showcase the Vega 7nm GPU that will exclusively be used for Artificial Intelligence (AI).
That is the Vega 7nm
Many of our colleagues were excited to see the confirmation of the existence of the chip called Vega 20. This is what AMD introduced back in January as the Vega 7nm, and it is a compute chip.
For professional market
Our well-informed sources have confirmed that Vega 10, AMD’s first HBM 2 card will by announced before the end of this year, at least for the professional market.
