AMD still working on Eyefinity and multi-GPU frame-pacing fix

by on13 December 2013

Coming in late January

According to a report over at Anandtech, it appears that AMD had some problems with the Eyefinity frame-pacing fix and although it was originally scheduled to come in November, those running high-end and quite expensive CrossfireX and Eyefinity systems will have to wait until January.

Earlier in September, AMD rolled out the Catalyst driver update/fix that took care of some frame-pacing issues on those systems that are actually running on single-GPU and single screen systems. but those running on very expensive multi-GPU and Eyefinity setups were left hanging.

According to the same report at, AMD was gearing up to release the so-called "phase 2" Catalyst driver update for quite some and while the initial target was November it is now quite obvious that they had some problems and faced a rather big delay with the fix.

Anandtech reckons that the update should be ready in the second half of January, since most companies will be quite busy during the first half of the next month with CES 2014 show in Las Vegas.
