Reminding us of the time when All-in-Wonder cards were all the rage, Sapphire announced its Radeon HD 5570 XtendTV graphics card that combines a Mirics DVB-T tuner with a HD 5570 GPU.
Specs wise, the HD 5570 XtendTV packs 400 stream processors and 1GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU ended up clocked at 650MHz while memory works at 4000MHz. The card features a single-slot cooler and, in addition to the tuner inputs, comes with DVI and HDMI outputs.
To spice things up, the Mirics tuner is everything but plain as, thanks to the FlexiTV and FlexiStream technologies, the tuner is not only capable of receiving and decoding TV signal, but can stream it to other devices via FlexiStream software and XtendTV client.
These specs and features make the Sapphire HD 5570 XtendTV an interesting solution for the HTPC systems. We just hope that Sapphire will introduce more similar cards including one with a low profile PCB.
Unfortunately, the price or the availability date haven't been announced but we'll surely keep an eye out for this one.
