European e-tail/retail to blame

European buyers are apparently going to draw the shorter straw once again, as judging by the first listings of the GTX 480 Fermi cards, things aren't looking good.

Our price search engine has listed bunch of cards coming from various partners and different e-tail/retail shops, and some of the biggest and important sellers are listing the card with a €499 price tag.

The blame can clearly be attributed to sellers as Nvidia was pretty clear that it aims at €450 price tag and €449.99 was something that we expected from the day one. Of course, there is still time as the cards shouldn't be available before April 12th. To make things worse, some sellers are even asking for up to €540 to €560 for certain GTX 480s.

Retailers/e-tailers are trying to get as much money from the Fermi hype and we honestly hope that both partners and Nvidia will intervene when it comes to suggested price tag, as if Newegg.com can do it in the USA, so should the European sellers as well.

You can find the listings here, and we honestly hope that Alternate.de and others will come to their senses, as Fermi might be good, but €499.99 is a bit too much.
