Updated: Dual GPU water cooled beast

Just as we said a few days back, Powercolor has now officially announced its HD 5970 LCS card, a water cooled dual GPU monster. The card has a slight factory overclock and uses a water block from EK Waterblocks, something that we have seen on previous Powercolor LCS series cards.

The HD 5970 LCS works at 750MHz for each GPU and features 2GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1050MHz (4.2Gbps). It packs two DVI and single Mini DisplayPort outputs and comes bundled with Dirt2 game.

As noted, the water block comes from EK Waterblocks and features a full copper base design which fully covers the memory as well as the power regulator part of the card. According to Powercolor it is enough to reduce the temperatures to up to 30°C when compared to the reference cooling solution. It features both high-flow 3/8" and 1/2" fittings.

The card should start to appear in retail/e-tail as of January 21st, but we still don't know its price. Considering that EK's water block from the HD 5970 costs €129.95, we expect this one to be anything but cheap, but it will be the best cooled HD 5970 on the market.

Update: We managed to find out that the suggested retail price for the new Powercolor LCS HD 5970 should be $829 US.
