Sources close to ATI claim that sales of Radeon HD 5870 are absolutely great. They are selling a lot of them and no one can keep any stock of the card. The cards apparently sell out as soon as they are in and partners confirmed this claim.  

More cards will get to the channel this week, but at the same time, etailers and retailers have to fight with many back-orders and its unlikely that the situation will get better anytime soon.

In the first week or October a better volume should hit the US and Europe but with such a strong demand, we doubt that they will sit long on the shelves. If you spend some time on the price comparison sites, you might end up getting one today or in few days as a pre-order product, but you will have to expect to spend an average of €350 if not even more.  

The good news for the red team is that the demand is there.
