AMD has announced its latest addition to the discrete GPU lineup that targets embedded applications market, like casino and arcade gaming.

The chip is made in 55nm and support DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.0. It has 320 stream processors, a 128-bit memory interface, 512MB of on-chip memory, features ATI's UVD 2.0 (Unified Video Decoder) and even supports CrossFireX. The core ticks at 600MHz while the GDDR3 memory works at 700MHz.

According to AMD, this one brings an improvement of up to 3x when compared to its previous generation. It also features broad hardware support for video codecs and can be used for multiple decode of HD video streams for features like picture in picture.

Despite it size the new E4690 certainly packs quite a punch. Vegas and many Indian casinos will be thrilled about this one.
