Includes Stereoscopic 3D option

Nvidia
released its first Geforce 186 Family driver set in beta form for its Geforce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, and 200-series desktop GPUs as well as the ION platform. Geforce 186.08 beta was compiled by Nvidia on June 1st, even though for some reason the release page mistakenly lists the date at May 6th.

Some of the noted improvements over Geforce 185.85 WHQL include numerous bug fixes for Geforce 9-series cards, Geforce 200-series cards, and SLI performance on Windows XP, Vista and 7.

As with the 185.85 releases, this driver supports all of the new GPU-accelerated DirectX APIs in Windows 7, including DirectX Compute, Direct2D, DirectWrite, and DXVA-HD. Not long ago, Nvidia noted that the Control Panel erroneously reports the PhysX software version in 185.85 WHQL as 9.09.0203, when the installed version is in fact 9.09.0408. In the new 186.08 beta release, the Control Panel reports the correct PhysX version:

The release also includes a Stereoscopic 3D option in the Nvidia Control Panel, which runs as a Windows service. However, it only works with the infamous Stereoscopid 3D Vision glasses, and so it can be seamlessly disabled for those poor souls without them.

Geforce 186.08 beta can be downloaded for all three current Windows operating systems in 32-bit and 64-bit flavors:

Geforce 186.08 beta – Windows 7 64-bit

Geforce 186.08 beta – Windows 7 32-bit
