16 processing cores for SFF PCs

Nvidia has announced a new card in its Quadro lineup, the Quadro NVS 420. The card aims at small form factor PC workstation systems and has support for up to four 30-inch displays with a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.

The rest of the specifications are rather unimpressive as it features 2 x 64-bit memory interface, 512MB of memory, 11.2GB/s (per GPU) of memory bandwidth and two GPUs with a total of 16 processing cores.

Other noted features include support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.1 and Nvidia's CUDA Parallel Computing Processor.

These four displays can be connected via four Dual-Link DVI/DisplayPort outputs and the maximum power consumption is rated at 40W.

The card should be available next month with a suggested price tag of US $499.
