CUDA, OCL, DirectX 11 compute

We talked
to a few people from Nvidia and the Director of PR has said that despite what you can read all over the news, Nvidia loves all GPU computing platforms, not only CUDA.

Currently, Nvidia pays CUDA a lot of attention, but we’ve learned that Nvidia’s cards do support Open CL and upcoming DirectX 11 compute. Nvidia’s message is very simple; it will use anything that advances GPU computing and makes your computing experience faster.

Getting more people excited about computing and making them want to buy a GPU as the video transcode will run faster means that Nvidia can expand its market from gamers to a much broader market and theoretically earn even more money. Therefore, Nvidia will do other computational stuff other than CUDA and does have that in mind.
