by on29 November 2023

Serious hardware if you want to run it with ray tracing

Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have released full PC system requirements for the upcoming sequel of the popular Homeworld RTS series, Homeworld 3. The game will support all the latest AMD and Nvidia technologies, as well as HDR and Raytracing, and has pretty high requirements for an RTS game.

In order to run Homeworld 3, you'll need at least an Intel Core i5-8600K or Ryzen 5 3600X CPU, 12GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060, AMD Radeon R9 480, or Intel Arc A380 graphics card. This will get you low graphics preset and 1080p resolution. In order to run it at 4K resolution with Ultra settings, you'll need some serious hardware, including Intel Core i7-13700K or Ryzen 9 7900X, 16GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6900XT graphics card.

The previous hardware does not include any RT settings, so if you want to run 1080p with low RT settings, you'll need RTX 4060 or RX 6650 XT graphics cards, and for 4K wiht Epic Ray Tracing settings, requirements go up to RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX.
