Software King of the World Microsoft loses up to $200 on each Xbox console it sells.

Xbox head Phil Spencer said that the revenues was made up elsewhere else on accessories and games. Vole loses $100 on the $499 Series X, and $200 on the smaller $299 Series S.

However, Spenser said that Microsoft can't avoid price hikes forever. Some analysts believe that Microsoft will be reviewing its pricing after the Christmas period is over.

Spencer himself mentioned the holiday period in this quote:

"We've held price on our console, we've held price on games and our subscription. I don't think we'll be able to do that forever... I do think at some point we'll have to raise some prices on certain things, but going into this holiday we thought it was important to maintain the prices," he said.
