In the meantime, the usual suspects have already reviewed the game and were quite impressed by it, describing it as the serious simulation racing game. It currently holds 87 score on Metascore and you can check out some of the reviews below.

- - 9.2/10 - With its refined new handling and piles of race options, Project CARS 2 is about as good as real racing gets right now.
- - 89/100 - Serious racing for serious racers. Extraordinarily convincing at each of the disciplines on offer. - 9/10 - It’s a game that centres you firmly as an active participant. It’s a game that makes you want to be a racer, and that might just be the best compliment that can be bestowed upon a representative of this genre. - N/A - Project Cars 2 improves upon its predecessor for a racing game of unprecedented scope - unfortunately hampered by a series of small issues.
- - 8/10 - AI issues aside, Slightly Mad Studios has put together an astoundingly deep racing simulator with an enormous amount of content.
