Shows those fancy effects

Nvidia has released a new trailer for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight game which shows a bit more details regarding GameWorks effects that will be used in the game.

Since earlier Batman games, including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins, all featured some Nvidia GameWorks effects, it does not come as a surprise that Batman: Arkham Knight will have those as well, including Interactive Smoke and Fog, Interactive Paper Debris and Enhanced Rain effects.

In case you missed it earlier, Batman: Arkham Knight is also a part of Nvidia's latest game bundle whic gets you a free Batman: Arkham Knight game if you buy Geforce GTX 980 Ti, GTX 980, GTX 970 or GTX 960 desktop graphics cards or Geforce 970M or above equipped notebook.

The trailer shows some of those effects in action and Nvidia noted that it will reveal more Gameworks effects in the near future. The Interactive Smoke and Fog uses CUDA cores in order to render interactive particle effects that would impossible to create on a CPU. Each effect can be manipulated by character movement, environmental conditions and external forces, and moves realistically around and across surfaces. Such effects are further enhanced by Particle Shadow Mapping, enabling particle self-shadowing and the casting of shadows on surfaces.

The Interactive Paper Debriis uses power of Nvidia Geforce GTX GPUs to render pieces of paper or other debris that react realistically to character movements, environmental conditions and other external forces, while the Enhance Rain is a new Nvidia GameWorks effect created specially for Batman: Arkham Knight game and uses GPU to create additional rain particles with simulated velocity when you use Batman's cape to fly.

Developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros, Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on June 23rd.
