PS Vita to go on a diet

by on27 January 2014

Details at presser later this week

Sony will be holding a press conference later this week where it is expected that they will announce a new version of the PS Vita. The event is set for London on January 30th at 9 AM local time.

What is expected to be announced is exactly what we saw last year in Japan, which was what is known as the PS Vita 2000, a redesigned version of the original PS Vita. The PS Vita 2000 looks like the original PS Vita on a serious diet, with the 2000 version being about 20 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter. The PS Vita 2000 also replaces the OLED screen with an LCD screen and also comes with 1GB of built-in memory.

We suspect that the announcement will indicate that the PS Vita 2000 will be released into Europe, but we still don’t know about North America. We will have to wait till the press conference to find out where the PS Vita 2000 will be landing next.
