GameStop to offer in-store auto-download

by on17 August 2012

Only for Xbox 360 DLC content so far

GameStop is launching a new service that will allow customers to buy DLC content in-store and have it auto-downloaded to their Xbox 360 console without having to deal with those codes.

It works by GameStop emailing you a code as soon as you pay for the content at the register, and then you can receive the Email on your smart phone, which fires off a message to your Xbox 360 to start downloading the content automatically.

GameStop is planning to offer add-on packs as well as full games using this distribution method.
