While Bulletstorm did pretty well in the media and many who gave the game a try really liked it, chances for a sequel are slim for the time being. While People Can Fly (who developed the first Bulletstorm) did start work on a sequel, work was apparently abandoned and the project cancelled while the studio moved on to another project, according to Epic’s Mike Capps.
While Capps admitted that the game did not meet sales expectations, he also commented that the PC version was hurt by piracy, which really isn’t that much of a surprise. While Capps says he believes that people like the idea of something new, the sales didn’t do the kinds of numbers that Epic or publisher EA would have liked; and both thought the title would have done better.
While some work was started on a sequel and Capps says that he would like to revisit Bulletstorm in the future, the company does not have anything to announce at this time.
