True Crime: Hong Kong rescued
Will now be called Sleeping Dogs
Publisher Square Enix has confirmed that the United Front Studio’s developed title, True Crime: Hong Kong that was canceled is coming back as a new collaboration between United Front Studios and Square Enix London Studios. The new title will be called Sleeping Dogs.
While Square Enix would only say that it should arrive in the second half of 2012, no official release date was revealed. Sleeping Dogs puts players in the role of undercover cop, Wei Shen, who is trying to bring to justice the Hong Kong Triads.
More specifics are expected to be released at a later date; but in the meantime, fans of True Crime should be excited about the title being rescued. While it isn’t exactly True Crime, it will offer openworld game play and a great melee combat system, according to sources. It is expected that Sleeping Dogs will get its first public look in June at E3.
