Windows 8 to offer Xbox Live support

by on15 September 2011

Development version being downloaded as made
Microsoft confirmed during the BUILD conference that Windows 8 would include Xbox Live as part of Windows 8. Windows 8 will feature the new Microsoft-developed Metro interface, which yields better performance for desktops as well as tablets.

Microsoft has made the developer preview available for Windows 8, and it has already been downloaded 500,000 times and the numbers continue to rise. The developer preview of Windows 8 is available to the general public in both 32bit and 64bit editions.

Sources tell us that Microsoft will again refocus their efforts on Windows 8 as a gaming platform, and this is the reason for building in Xbox Live. There is no word if a rumor of the ability to play Xbox games is still in the cards or not.
