Latest patch seems to do little to resolve the issue
Those PlayStation 3 owners looking to get into a little Call of Duty: Black Ops action might have to look elsewhere for some entertainment, as the latest patch that dropped seems to do nothing to fix the connectivity issues that PS3 players seem to being having with the title.

For a couple of days we have been hearing chatter about connectivity and networking problems with the PS3 version of Black Ops, and only the PS3 version. (It appears that the problem is not an issue with the Xbox 360 or PC versions of the game.) While Treyarch has been attempting to deal with the issue, players are getting more than a bit upset with the problems.

The issues seem to have gotten a little worse with the latest patch, according to some of the reports that we have read. According to our understanding, the issue shows up as excessive time to find and connect to a game, assuming you don’t crash out of the game’s match making system first. It can also show up as players being kicked out of games with connection lost messages or host migration issues that also result in a disconnect from the game.

The news about these issues continues to be a major problem for the PS3 players and while some say they are not seeing an issue, others are suggesting that the player’s ISP might be the real issue and not the software itself. At least for the time being, the majority of PS3 Black Ops players are not happy. Apparently, Treyarch continues to evaluate and figure out what can be done to solve the issue; but from what we can tell they just are not sure of the source of the problem.

Sources tell us that Treyarch remains committed to finding and correcting things, but it could be that it is going to take a little longer before they are able to provide a patch to solve the problem. Recently, Treyarch has had a pretty darn good track record at releasing patches to resolve issues; but while this bug eludes them, PS3 owners will just have to wait till it is solved. There is no word yet on when we can expect the next patch to arrive.
