Confirmed now for October 12th

Electronic Arts has now confirmed that they will be shipping the new Medal of Honor title ahead of Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. The strategy to get the new Medal of Honor title out ahead of the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops could be a smart decision by EA, as they will be able to attract some attention for this new installment prior to Activision’s release.

For Medal of Honor this release will represent a new direction for the franchise and a move into the modern warfare realm, which could prove an interesting decision by EA who is looking to once again establish dominance in the FPS arena. The new Medal of Honor is comprised of two development teams, one being EA’s Los Angeles Studio and DICE. EA’s L.A. Studio is handling the single player game, while the multiplayer is being done by DICE.

When it arrives on October 12th in North America and October 15th in Europe a lot of questions about moving this game to one featuring Army Rangers stationed in Afghanistan will be answered. The game is confirmed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms.
