EA is looking at making it happen

Word reached us over the weekend that apparently Electronic Arts is considering releasing Dead Space: Extraction for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Originally, Extraction was developed as a standalone title for the Wii platform as an exclusive offering. Now EA might be looking to recoup some of the money that they lost on the Wii release of Extraction by porting the title over to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 where the title would be expected to do much better.

While nothing has been set in stone yet, apparently EA is considering this as an option, according to our sources. The strategy, however, might be to engage in doing a direct port from the Wii version and sell it at a lower price as a value offering. If EA really wants to see sales numbers out of an Extraction port, we think they would have to up the graphics from the Wii version to make it look like an Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 title; but it could be that they might use this as part of their announced strategy to release Extraction on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 prior to the release of Dead Space 2 and use it as a promotional tool. Sounds like it fits in with their announced strategy, but we will have to see.
