Will add some new things when it arrives

The Left 4 Dead 2 downloadable content pack known as “The Passing” has been bumped back a few more weeks to spring release, but a date has yet to be specified according to our sources. The reason for the delay has more to do with the need for additional time to polish the latest DLC prior to release.

When it does arrive it will cost Xbox 360 owners 560 Microsoft Points or $7 to purchase it. While we can’t confirm it, according to our sources the PC version will again be free via Steam. Valve has stated previously that charging for DLC on the Xbox 360 has more to do with Microsoft than it does with the company wanting to charge for it.

Upon release, “The Passing” will, of course, add some new missions, a new mode of game play and of course, new weapons. Among the new weapons will be the M60 machine gun and the golf club. Perhaps the bigger draw will be the fact that players will meet up with the Left 4 Dead characters as part of the story in this DLC. Some of our sources suggest that the L4D team will not survive the encounter in this DLC as part of the story. We will have to see if this turns out to be true, but we will have to wait till spring to see it. Our moles claim that it will be poised for a late Sprint release despite no official word from Valve.
