Xiaomi sells 50,000 Mi Pad tablets

by on07 July 2014

In four minutes

Xiaomi’s first tablet went on sale over the weekend and the Chinese company says it received more than 50,000 orders in just four minutes.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad is a relatively powerful tablet, with an Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz and 2GB of RAM. It has a 2048x1356 8-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera and between 16GB and 64GB of storage.

At about $240 for the 16GB unit, the Mi Pad offers exceptional value, but there is a catch. You still can’t get one in Europe on North America. Hopefully this will change soon enough, as Xiaomi is planning to go global over the next few quarters
